- Survey Report - "Understanding
of Private Higher Education in India - A Stakeholder's
Perspective" submitted to the Planning
Commission, GoI. (Available as Hard Copy)
Abstract: This study was conducted by
FICCI to seek the opinions and perceptions of
a segment of the stakeholders involved in the
higher education system. With Government funding
to this sector declining annually and its limited
outlay targeted largely to develop a few institutes
of excellence, the role of the private sector
would only increase in the years to come. The
field survey carried out attempted to elicit
the views of students, parents, recruiters and
faculty to the increasing role of the private
sector in higher education. The survey was carried
out between December 2005 and January 2006.
Over 4000 respondents across 11 cities in the
stakeholder segments were contacted.
